ICHM was established in 1992 by the State Government of South Australia, the Swiss Hotel Association (SHA) and the Lipman family to be the hotel school of choice for the industry professionals of tomorrow.

Visionary ICHM founder, Dr Rex Lipman AO ED OLH ONM (1922 – 2015) based the degrees on a commitment to excellence with a belief the finest education and training are essential for producing graduates who are internationally ready to take up senior roles in the highly competitive hotel and hospitality industry.

Recently, ICHM was named the best hotel and hospitality school in Australia for the quality of its student experience, according to the leading Australian Government national QILT Student Experience Survey (SES) survey.

The Adelaide-based International College of Hotel Management operated as a family-owned business until January 2017 when Charles Darwin University (CDU) acquired the College. In early 2020 UP Education, the largest private education provider in New Zealand, acquired ICHM from CDU.

ICHM offers a range of entry pathways to undergraduate courses. Your previous study and work experience may be used to apply for entry.
