Welcome to School Resources, SATAC's online resource for school counsellors and guidance teachers. This centralised website aims to assist schools in facilitating tertiary education and career events.

Metropolitan School Events

South Australia's three universities and TAFE SA have a long history of supporting South Australian schools through the provision of information about post-secondary education. New for 2010 will be the choice of presentation options.

1. A Tertiary Education Panel Presentation (TEPP). This 90 minute presentation has all four SA tertiary institutions presenting in the one forum. A TEPP presentation is designed specifically for year 11 and 12 students.
   
   The format of the presentation will be:
   

   > Introduction and tertiary aspirations DVD media clip (5 minutes).
   
   > Individual institution presentation (10 minutes each).
   
   > Question and Answer session (10 minutes).
   
   > ‘Supermarket’ where all four institutions can provide specific institution, faculty and course information.  Students  can discuss their specific needs with the institution representative individually (35 minutes).
   

    
2. An individual institution presentation. Each of the four institutions are happy to visit your school individually to undertake a 45 minute customised presentation about their institution. These presentations are tailored for years 11 or 12.
   
   Please use a separate form for booking each institution.
   
   Note: you can book this presentation as well as option 1 above (TEPP).
    
3. A Career Event. In this format, the four SA institutions will attend your career and/or parent career sessions to make a presentation or simply talk to students and parents about study and career options.

To book a metropolitan school event

1.      Consult the combined calendar of tertiary events for availability. Note: a maximum of two daytime Tertiary Education Panel Presentations, two evening events and individual institution presentations will be taken.

2.      Once you have identified a potential date, please use the booking form to book your event. Please make sure you indicate the type of presentation you require.

3.      To assist you with planning your event, consult the event checklist.

Rural Tertiary Tour Program

The three universities in South Australia and TAFE SA are committed to supporting country schools through the Rural Tertiary Education Panel Presentations and Evening Information Sessions. The 2010 Rural Tertiary Tour Program lists the tour schedule as at November 2009.
