satac     Document details

Supporting documents should be provided to SATAC within 7 days. Information received after Friday 10 June 2011 is not guaranteed to be considered in the main offer round.

When you have completed the details on your TAFEWeb application you will be given a list of the specific documents which you must supply to support claims about your qualifications. SATAC cannot take them into account if they are not supplied and this may affect your selection score and chances of receiving an offer.

All documents sent to SATAC should have your TAFE application reference number written in the top right hand corner.

Resumes, CV's and References
Resumes, CV's and references are not used when assessing your application so please do not attach them.

Original Documents
Only send copies of the required documents to SATAC. Please do not send original documents. These may be difficult to replace and you should retain them for your personal records.

Internet Downloads
Copies of results downloaded from the internet cannot be accepted as proof of qualifications for selection purposes.

Documents in a language other than English
If any of your documents are in a language other than English, you must submit copies of a complete English translation certified by an independent accredited translator as well as a copy of the original document.

Statutory Declaration
If you are unable to obtain a copy of the qualification from the organisation that awarded it, you may make a Statutory Declaration which must be signed in the presence of a Justice of the Peace. The declaration must contain the following information:

  • when you obtained the original qualification
  • name and location of the educational organisation
  • which subjects/topics you studied and what your results were
  • the circumstances which now prevent your access to the records

The Statutory Declaration will not be accepted if it is incomplete (must address the four abovementioned points).

Please note there are significant legal penalties for making false claims in a Statutory Declaration.

Emailing Documents
SATAC will not accept copies of documents via email.

You can mail your documents to SATAC, PO Box 235, Rundle Mall, SA 5000.

Tertiary studies
(Degrees, Advanced Diplomas, Diplomas, Associated Diplomas, Post Graduate Studies, Bridging/Foundation Courses)

Studies at a university or other (non-TAFE) institution

SATAC is able to obtain an electronic copy of many university results. However if you studied at an institution that is not listed here you must provide academic transcripts and evidence of completion (if applicable).

If you do not have a copy of the award parchment (the certificate given to you at graduation) you must obtain a letter from the institution verifying that you have completed the award.

Cross-institutional study
If you have undertaken any cross-institutional study i.e. one or more subjects at a different university from where you are undertaking the majority of your studies, you must supply a copy of the transcript for your cross-institutional studies as these results are often not included with those from your ‘home’ institution.

Supplementary examination results
SATAC cannot obtain the results of supplementary examinations on your behalf. You will need to provide copies to SATAC, although the results may be too late to affect the outcome of your application.

Studies at TAFE or other Registered Training Organisations (RTO)

(1)   Course already completed

If you have already completed a course, either in SA or interstate, you must supply a copy of the parchment (the certificate given to you at graduation) or a letter from the course coordinator stating that the award is complete. If it is a TAFE Bachelor degree you will need to supply transcripts of results.

(2)   Studying Certificates I to IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor degree or         Graduate Vocational Diploma and due to complete by 30 June

If you are studying at a TAFE campus, or any Registered Training Organisation (RTO), and are due to complete one of the above awards at the end of Semester 1 (30 June), and you want to use this qualification in order to meet the Minimum Entry Requirements (MER) for a course, you will be required to provide evidence of completion at the time of enrolment should you receive an offer.

Please be aware that documents received at SATAC after Friday 10 June are not guaranteed to be considered in the main offer round.
