Applicants are assessed for their eligibility for each of their preferred courses.
Eligibility is specific to each course, which means that an
applicant may be eligible for some courses and not others. The
eligibility requirements for a course are described as Minimum Entry Requirements (MER).
Most courses include a range of entry requirements to ensure that people from a
variety of backgrounds are eligible. Applicants only need to meet
one of the entry requirements listed in the MER.
Example
If you are applying for a Certificate III course you must meet
one of the following conditions:
- Satisfactory completion of SACE Stage II (or equivalent) or
- Any Certificate II (or above) or
- Satisfactory performance in the TAFE SA Assessment of Basic
Skills (TABS)
A minimum standard of English literacy
is also required for entry into Certificate II and above courses.
Use CourseSearch to check that you meet the MER for each of your preferences.
