Eligibility
Entry into the Competition is open to current high school students (enrolled during the Competition Period) in years 7 to 12 in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Entrants may be required to show proof of enrollment to a South Australian or Northern Territory registered high school. Please note, while persons under 18 are permitted to enter the Competition, parental/guardian consent is required before entering.
The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to validate and check the authenticity of entries and entrants’ details (including an entrant’s identity, age and enrollment at an applicable high school). In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof as required by the Promoter to validate their entry, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole, and no substitute will be offered.
How to enter
To enter the Competition, entrants must complete this digital form – including their personal details (first name, last name, email address, school, state of residency and mobile number) and parent/guardian consent. Entrants will then receive an email from SATAC, with instructions on how to upload their artwork. The Promoter requests that all artwork, including physical submissions, be initially uploaded as a digital file or photo.
Links to artwork will not be accepted.
Only one (1) entry will be accepted per individual.
Entrants shortlisted to the final stage will be contacted by the Promoter, where they may request an entrant send the physical artwork to Level 6/431 King William Road, Adelaide 5000, or upload a high-resolution file.
Entrants must keep their proof of submission. If an entrant fails to produce the proof of submission for a specific entry when requested by the Promoter, the Promoter has the right to invalidate the entrants respective entry and the entrant may forfeit their right to a prize.
Submission receipt(s) must clearly specify:
- the piece and mode of uploading via the Microsoft Form, and
- that the submission was completed during the Competition Period.
The Promoter does not charge an entry fee for this Competition, aside from any costs the entrant may incur to create the required entry, any delivery costs and fees, and any charges associated with accessing the entry website through their internet service provider.
Adhering to entry specs
Entrants can submit (1) one piece of artwork in accordance with the entry requirements.
Entries must be either 2D digital or traditional art – such as graphite, charcoal, pen/ink, watercolour, acrylic, oil, pastel, collage, mixed media on paper or canvas – and adhering to the following dimensions:
- Maximum width and height – 140 cm (W) by 70 cm (H)
- Minimum width and height – 21 cm (W) by 29 cm (H)
- Orientation – for smaller pieces, landscape or portrait is acceptable. For works at maximum size, portrait orientation is required.
All entries must be the student’s own original work.
Students may not copy, trace, or reproduce the work of another artist, designer, or photographer.
No stock images, NFTs, AI-generated content, or materials downloaded from the internet may be used (in whole or in part).
If reference material is used (e.g. a photo of a landscape, building, or person), it must either:
- be taken by the student themselves, or
- be copyright-free/public domain with clear evidence provided.
By submitting, entrants confirm they hold the full copyright to their work and that it does not infringe on the rights of any third party.
The Promoter will respect copyright ownership. Students (and their guardians) retain copyright to their artwork. However, by entering, they grant the Promoter a licence to use their work for promotional purposes, including displaying the artwork in the SATAC office for a period of twelve (12) months after the winners are announced.
Entries containing offensive or defamatory comments, or which breach any law or infringe any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights, are not eligible to win. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an individual to automatically enter is prohibited and may render the entry submitted by that individual invalid.
Prizes pool
Nine-hundred dollars ($900) will be available in the prize pool in the form of three (3) three-hundred dollar ($300) e-gift cards.
No part of the prize is exchangeable or redeemable for cash or any other prize, or transferable, unless otherwise specified in writing by the Promoter.
If a prize is provided to the Promoter by a third party, the prize is subject to the terms and conditions of the third-party prize supplier.
Prize/s
One (1) three-hundred dollar ($300) e-gift card will be awarded to each of the three (3) joint winners.
Equal consideration, assessment and judging
Each submission will be judged by a panel on an equal basis, with the winners assessed as those who best interpret the theme on the basis of originality, execution and visual impact.
Notification
Winners will be notified in writing within seven (7) days of the final judging decision. If the entrant is chosen as one of the joint winners, their artwork will be displayed in the SATAC Adelaide office (Level 6/431 King William Street, Adelaide SA 5000) for a period of twelve (12) months from the announcement of the winner.
Winners under the age of 18 may require signed parent and/or guardian permission for their entry to be declared a joint winner.
Claiming and supplying prizes
Winners have two (2) months from the draw date to claim the prize by responding to the email notification. Where a winner does not claim the prize within the two (2) months, the prize will be foregone.
After a winner has claimed their prize, it will be delivered either by mail, email or direct to the entrant’s school within one (1) month.
Publication
The first and last names and school of each winner, along with images of the artwork, will be published in SATAC’s marketing and communications (including social media and school bulletins).
Please note, where a winner has requested that their name and school not be published, the Promoter will abide by this.
Unclaimed prize draw
If a prize remains unclaimed, the Promoter will attempt to find another means of delivery, including giving the prize to the school of the entrant. In the case that the prize cannot be distributed to the school, the Promoter will void the prize and the winner will be assumed to have forfeited any right to the prize.
Cancellation
If, for any reason, any aspect of this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter may, in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition and invalidate any affected entries, or suspend or modify a prize, subject to State or Territory regulation.
Privacy
This Competition adheres to the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.
Conclusion
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries in the event of non-compliance with these terms and conditions. In the event that there is a dispute concerning the conduct of the Competition or claiming a prize, the Promoter will resolve the dispute in direct consultation with the entrant. If the dispute cannot be resolved the Promoter’s decision will be final.
The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence or willful misconduct) in connection with this Competition or accepting or using any prize (or recommendation).
