A huge congratulations to the three winners in SATAC’s 2025 Art Competition!
Their artwork stood out for its creativity, interpretation of the theme Journey, Paths and Place, and its beautiful visual impact. We are thrilled to showcase the artworks in our Adelaide office - a place where so many students start their next step into tertiary education.
Well done and thank you to all the talented students who entered this year!

A Portrait of 1000 Colours’ is a self-portrait that presents my colourful personality in an expressive, abstract and physical form. Showcasing the hard and bleak moments I've experienced through the cardboard background and the texture the cardboard provides. As an artistic reflection of the struggles I've faced this year, my portrait serves as an outlet for pent-up emotions and life lessons.
Ellie - Year 8 - Hills Christian Community School
My artwork features collage, acrylic paint, and elements from nature to bring the artwork to life and show how wombats are endangered. With combining the different art elements, I aim to create a meaningful, inspiring and deep artwork helping people stop and think about wildlife and how us humans have a strong effect on the way of their living. I was inspired to create this artwork after driving through the mountains in south NSW and seeing way too much roadkill of various animals.
Shae - Year 10 - Faith Lutheran College
While it first appears like an everyday still life table arrangement, it is comprised of elements that hold a deeper meaning for me. Fruitful olive branches picked from our grove and a bottle of oil from our olives represent a special part of our property, and the feeling of curling up with a book and cup of tea is expressed through the books, local newspaper and mug. I have displayed them on my kitchen table, tying them all to the place where my family gathers. Through all this, I aimed to portray the sunlit warmth and cosy feeling that only home can bring. I believe the journey I have been on, moving to where I am now, has brought me to a place where I belong, with the skewed section of the painting representing this shift in my life. This arrangement ties me to this moment in life right now, where the olives are blooming and there is no place like home.
