If you have completed a TAFE or VET (Vocational Education and Training) qualification you may be eligible to apply for an course.

Examples of a TAFE or VET award include:

  • Certificate III
  • Certificate IV
  • Diploma
  • Advanced Diploma

Eligibility to use VET qualifications

Your eligibility to apply on the basis of a VET qualification depends on the level of your qualification.

The rules for applying with a VET qualification vary between and from course to course.

In most cases, the you receive for your VET qualification will be based on the level of the award. For some courses such as Nursing, your rank may be adjusted if your VET qualification is in a related field.

If you have studied towards a at a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and it is listed on the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA) National Register, you may be eligible to apply under the higher education pathway.
