  • Admission Criteria

    To be offered a place in a course at Torrens University Australia you must meet the minimum entry requirements, any course specific as well as satisfy English language requirements.

  • Undergraduate Applicants

    Applicants with recent secondary education (within the past two years).

    Australian Year 12 students

    Selection will be based on completion of an Australian Year 12 or equivalent, including the ().
     

    Overseas Year 12 Equivalent

    Applicants who have completed a secondary school qualification from an overseas within the past two years will have their application assessed by the International Admissions team to determine equivalency with the Australia secondary school certificate using NOOSR and/or NARIC guidelines.
     

    Applicants with higher education study

    Applicants who have completed prior study may be assessed and selected for admission if they meet one or more of the following criteria, in addition to any course-specific entry requirements including but not limited to interviews, referee reports and portfolios:

    • A completed qualification at AQF level 5 (diploma) or above, or equivalent, from an Australian University or another accredited higher education provider
    • Successful completion of at least 1 EFTSL (equivalent full-time student load, or one full year) of an AQF level 6 (Associate Degree) or above, or equivalent, from an Australian University or another accredited higher education provider
       

    Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study

    Applicants who have completed prior vocational education study may be assessed and selected for admission if they meet one or more of the following criteria, in addition to any course-specific entry requirements including but not limited to interviews, referee reports and portfolios:

    • A completed vocational education qualification at AQF level 4 (Certificate IV) or above, or equivalent, from a registered training organisation (RTO)
    • Successful completion of at least 1 EFTSL (equivalent full time student load, or one full year) of an AQF level 5 (Diploma) or above, or equivalent, at a registered training organisation (RTO)
       

    Applicants with work and life experience (includes those who left secondary education more than two years ago)

    Applicants who left secondary education more than two years ago may be assessed and selected based on any combination of their:

    • Formal learning, including fully or partially completed qualifications, schooling or other structured courses of learning that lead to an officially accredited qualification
    • Non-formal learning through structured courses that do not lead to an officially accredited qualification, such as work-based courses and non-accredited professional development
    • Informal learning gained through relevant work or life experience, self-tuition and social, family, hobby or leisure activities and experiences. This might also include volunteering experience, community activities or industry experience.
       

    Course-specific requirements may describe additional criteria against which applications based on work and life experience will be assessed.

    You may be for the Early Entry Program at Torrens University Australia. Application is easy and takes less than 10 minutes, and you will receive a conditional in September.

  • Academic Year

    Torrens University Australia has three main intakes per year, for both full-time and part-time higher education degree and diploma students. The term commencement dates for 2027 are as below:

    • Trimester 1: 15 February 2027
    • Trimester 2: 31 May 2027
    • Trimester 3: 13 September 2027
